I was actually looking forward to watching this film. I personally enjoy Jackie Chan's past performances and had never seen any of Jaden Smith's. This movie fulfilled my expectations as an epic family film. It was funny, exciting, and sometimes uncomfortably romantic (they're twelve! Yeesh!). Jaden is charming and funny, just like his father. The “Wax-on, Wax-off” scene was replaced with “Put jacket on, take jacket off” which was cute but not as effective as the former. The last 30 minutes of the fighting competition were identical to the original 1984 version. Which didn't bother me because of course, it's the happy ending anybody wants to see.
Overall, not a bad flick. If you feel like watching it, watch it. If not, don't even worry about it.
