Whatever Works, Works

I just watched “Whatever Works.”
Woody Allen never ceases to please me with his witty writing and combination of unlikely couples. Evan Rachel Woods plays a dumb blond from Mississippi who imposes herself onto an intellectual Woody Allen-looking character (Boris) in New York City. He can't stand her, then grows to love her, and then...they get married. There couldn't be an odder couple. Their conversations are funny and natural. Boris (Larry David) consistently complains about the world and insults anyone, whether close friends or small children.
As wacky and uncommon the circumstances are, I still enjoyed the film.
Don't watch this movie if you're wanting a sexy Match Point or Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona experience. Watch it because you want to see how an angry old Jewish man and a happy young inexperienced southerner interact with each other in New York City.
